Finding the Firm with the Greatest Value

Seven selection criteria

With many decisions to make before remodeling—design, products, installation—where does one begin? First on your list should be to find the best firm. That is, the firm you feel can do the best job and work within your budget.

To help with your selection, Artisan Kitchens and Baths is offering these seven selection criteria.

1. Appearance of Showroom. When you walk in the door, note the showroom’s appearance. Expect similar results in your home.

2. Educational Approach. Customers need information to make informed decisions. Avoid firms that speak before listening. Look for one with a prominent information center.

3. Quality Products, Special Values. Many products, most notably cabinets, come in quality grades, from Ready-To-Assemble to Luxury. Look for variety, value and an explanation of the differences.

4. Highly Trained Personnel. The most important factor. Look for designers who have been with the same firm, have solid credentials, and are committed to education.

5. Documentation. Three important documents: Floorplan and Elevations, Specifications of Products and Services, and an agreement detailing terms and conditions. Documentation reduces unforeseen costs.

6. Specialized Services. A firm with specialized services, like Artisan Kitchens and Bath, delivers the attention to detail necessary for a smooth remodel.

7. Business Integrity. Think peace of mind. A solid reputation, warranty, and client endorsements indicate quality.
